In that way, John McCain’s military service, and especially his decision, as a POW, not to jump the line and walk out of prison when offered, is a piece of who the man is and tells us about the decisions he has made. Same with Obama and his post-law school career choice

The above is from the marcambinder discourse. Maybe back when McCain was a young guy, he was the man up above. But over time he seems to have changed and now he is the man who makes jokes like referring to Leisure World where the elderly live as "seizure world" and explaining that Chelsea is the progeny of a union between HRC and Janet Reno. He is the man who allegedly called his wife a c*nt in public. He is the man who loses his temper at the slightest of provocations. So back when he was young Mr. McCain maybe was a man of character but that man has changed and now is not so honorable. But more importantly, getting shot down and becoming a POW is NOT IMO a qualification to be president no matter how honorable he was at the time. So then, I continue to agree with Clark and frankly, do not understand what the big brouhaha is all about. There are times when this country seems to bend over backwards to give people passes........McCain seems to be one of those people. I am not always sure its very appropriate.
