The simple equation states the difference between the planet with and without an atmosphere. i.e it theorises the atmosphere is the reason why we are 33 degrees warmer then that equation states (for otherwise identical planets with and without an atmosphere) That is the meaning of the word "greenhouse effect" in this case. It does not mean environmental climate scientists think there are giant panes of glass above the stratosphere or anything. /edit, Yes, the author in the first link does not mention water or water vapour... which is a major ommision, but the purpose of the link in my post was just to state the simple equation arrived from the influx of energy from the sun.
