GM needs to survive until the Volt comes out in 2010. People around here (Detroit) are saying that is no problem. I am buying GM here, for a long term position. GM and GE are the only firms I would like to own long term at this time, and they are both plays on Chindia more than America.

Not so sure about Ford's survival. That's a crap shoot. The recent arrangements with the unions will help them if they can hold on for another year or two.

Chrysler is even more of a gamble. Not convinced they will be around in 12 months, at least not in current form.
