UFO sighting over Derbyshire border

01 July 2008

By Lindsey Bowers

A series of UFOs were spotted over the Derbyshire border at the weekend.

Samantha Doleman and her family, who live in Newton Solney on the Staffordshire/ Derbyshire border, saw a series of strange lights in the sky from their garden on Saturday night.

Mrs Doleman was outside with her husband at 12.30am, clearing up after a teenagers' party, when they both saw the UFOs.

Mrs Doleman said: "My husband yelled at me to come outside and what I saw was the most astounding, confusing thing I have ever witnessed.

"A series of orange lights flew across the sky, in pairs, numbering about 12. They passed over us and moved off just north of East Midlands Airport.

"In all it took just over five minutes for them to pass. Three teenage children saw them also from our window."

The said she reported the sighting to the police who said they would investigate at the airport, but she has had no response yet.

"I have no explanation for this," she said, "There was no aircraft noise, the sky was clear and we were of sound mind!"

"We watched with a sense of wonder and awe, trying hard to come up with logical solutions. Very bizarre!"
