I don't know how many here use Firefox's "Hyperwords" extension but it's a great shortcut for me. In it's newest revision, I am able to add my library's "search" function to it's right-click "reference" tree.

Now, when I highlight the title of a book, and go search-reference-library, it automatically opens my Library URL and does a search for the book. I can then reserve it on the spot.

You can add almost any site to the reference section and use it this way.
