Michael and All, do you think we'll see $10 within a year or so? I've noticed on this thread that the focus is more on the short term and on trading opportunities, which I respect, but I'm looking into syqt as an investment rather than a quick trade and am consequently intersted in knowing about some of the following issues.
1. Is management committed to having a strong market presence and gaining back market share and brand name recognition, and not going the way of the betamax (please excuse the analogy, no offence is intended)
2.Does management have a history of being honest with shareholders?
3. Can they admit their mistakes and move forward, or are they the type of management that is always making excuses?
4. Has lousy marketing been one of their major downfalls in the past, and will SYQT get their act together for a big marketing push for rocket? I feel very strongly that the general public will buy one product over another because it has a much stronger media presence in the mags and on tv, not because it is necessarily superior, or a better value.
5.Is management visionary enough to always stay ahead of becoming obselete?
6. How is their guidance? IMO it's much better these days to guide the analysts a little low and then surprise on the upside than the reverse.
7. When are earnings?
If I seem to be focused on management to the exclusion of other issuses it is because I am already convinced that they have superior products than IOM but it is not enough! Marketing, brand name recognition, and fiscal responsibility are key. I've been very frustrated in this regard before with other companies (eg. sgi makes great scaleable servers but has lousy marketing-look at a chart of sgi for a roller coaster ride) and am cautious about investing in a company simply because they make the best product.
Thanks in advance
BTW, I still own 2 betamax's ;^) . |
