In one of the NY Times op eds, writer said this spat had more to do with the traditional hostility between army infantry and flyboys.

Nonsense.

This is about politics and liberals being willing to do or say anything to get their boy elected. Nothing more, nothing less.

The funny part is that Clark so idiotically brought this up when everyone knows McCain has military experience whereas Obama doesn't.

McCain has a pretty distinguished Senate career during which he has been heavily involved in military matters. I very strong argument can be made that McCain's experience in military matters is broader than not only Obama's (obviously), but than Clark's.

McCain should have laughed it off and said, "Hey, there is that 30 years I spent in the Senate versus Obama's 1.5 years. Don't I get some credit for that?"
