Tim;

then you would just continue to have an inefficient socialist oil industry in Iraq.

If they want an inefficient socialist oil industry - that is their business not ours. My thinking is this; We have a war in Afghanistan that needs our full unbridled attention. It is a war of necessity and we are now going into our 7th year with absolutely no end in sight. Last month was the deadliest month we have had there. Iraq is causing us to lose Afghanistan and lose on the world stage. If the Iraq war is necessary - then somebody owes it to the American people to tell us what we are doing there. The reasons have shifted with the seasons and if Bill Clinton had put us in this exact mess, conservatives or any sane American would be screaming for his neck. If conservatives would only be honest about this, perhaps Americans could come together with resolve to clean up George's mess. But conservatives won't be honest and so the war will go on forever and we put our Afghanistan mission in danger.

Meanwhile oil hits weekly new highs and GM stock hits a low of single digits - the worse since the mid 50's. These are troubling times for our country and we better stop digging this hole or our economy may not survive.
