on evil, by your ruler, was maestro al greensputin evil? Good question. A lot of what he wrote in his early days was indeed sensible and good. Later, when in power at the Fed, he turned his back on the sensible things he had written and did exactly the opposite. I have no insight into his motivation for doing this incredible volte face so conclude that I cannot judge him. Was he stupid and foolish? Ultimately transmogrified himself into a charlatan? Oh, yes, in spades. Evil? In the sense that he desired a bad result? I cannot say. There is certainly the possibility because he knew that limitless liquidity would lead to the rise of the Wall St. hucksters, who are indeed evil as a class. I suspect he knew his actions would not end well, that he was abetting the hucksters, but did he know that things would end up this badly? I don't know. Is criminal negligence evil? Sorry for answering your questions with more questions but I am a lawyer and can't help myself. I'd like to cross examine Greenspan, then I could tell you if he was evil or merely criminally negligent or just stupid and deluded by power.
