One of the major problems is, far too many of us think we are "race car drivers" out there, and driving fast not only increases the risk of serious injury or death, the fact is, if something goes wrong mechanically with your vehicle and you are going too fast, you are usually toast... And, as people get poorer, they will not be maintaining their vehicles properly, driving around more and more with bald tires and bad brakes, which will make it even more insane to drive fast... And let us not forget that driving fast wastes valuable fuel, causing the price of gasoline to go higher than it needs to be.
So slow down, save gas, save lives, less serious injuries.
