Rolled up with tanks and let the country drift into such havoc that they had no longer any choice. Al Qaeda was a severe problem in Iraq, Not before we were there it wasn't. You are picking a condition created by the havoc we created - and then suggest since it is a little better than the worse - it's improving. Would you have been this patient had Bill Clinton messed things up this bad? How about if Obama takes office and things still are a mess after four years - will you be willing right now to accept that as progress? its not like the country is going to hell in a hand basket What is it you want to accomplish in Afghanistan? We have been there going on 7 years and things aren't better - they are worse. If after another 7 years of a democratic government things are still going downhill, will you still be willing to suggest that ...."things aren't going to hell in a hand basket"? We have to have a mission there - do the mission - and come home. steve
