I think the recession will last at least two years, maybe more.

We'll probably emerge from it with an economy that has adapted to higher taxes, more entitlements, and the resulting unintended consequences of it (e.g. unemployment at EU levels, greatly increased illegal immigration, even less class mobility, etc.)
