There are just some things you don't mess with (as Roseanne Barr found out). That was a really, really stupid thing to do. That guy SHOULD have walked off the stage. I imagine everyone was just too shocked at such chutzpah to react.
Common sense should have told her that the place to "make a creative expression of her love for the country" was in a personal recital, not in this venue.

But then people have been doing awful things to the National Anthem for years now. Maybe she thought her version would be as well-received as Hendrix's at Woodstock.

Personally, I HATE when people do that interval leap on home of the Fre-EEEEEEEEE.
