Many in the military were heroes. Many were mass murderers and torturers. Johnson, Ho Chi Minh and Nixon were criminals. A soldier goes where he is told to go and does what he is told to do, unless it violates International War Laws. Which Vietnam did not, except for several crimes against humanity on both sides.
