Tillman was murdered by the Bush rightwing. And he would have made the difference because he would have blown the smearvet campaign out of the water or at least neutralized it. And remember, even if you believe Rove's Ohio operatives didn't steal that state (which they did) the election came down to one state and 55,000 voters. So a huge story like pro-war poster boy Pat Tillman speaking out against Bush for screwing up the real war on terrorism would have made a tremendous difference. Tillman's views also echoed Kerry's, that is that Bush didn't finish off Al Qaida but switched focus to Iraq, which in fact helped terrorism, created more terrorists and let Al Qaida mend and rebuild.

Now we know all of that has come to pass. Afghanistan is now the #1 front on the war on terror for sure (as it always was despite Bush's lies to the contrary) and we lost 57 guys there last month, more than in Iraq.
