"then why do you al quade lovers want to speed so much money on high speed rail ??" Dunno what al quade is. High speed rail makes sense from a city planning point of view. Our present circumstances show the wisdom of that viewpoint. I know, I know. Trying to anticipate problems and heading them off before there is a crisis is fuzzy thinking. Thinking that things will always be like now or some idealized version of it is the hallmark of the clear-thinking "realists" that you wingnuts pride yourselves as being... After all, if it isn't a full-blown crisis, why bother?
