It would be great if most liberals actually fit that description, but most do not. The majority of libs pretend to be tolerant of diversity of opinion but in practice they are not. Best example of that truth is Democrats attitude towards Condi Rice. They say she's not really an authentic member of a minority because she's a Republican with opinions different than their "progressive" beliefs.

I've been observing libs my entire life...up close & personal...that's why I'm convinced most of their political stances don't work. They've already been tried in the USSR(United Soviet Socialist Republic) and collapsed in utter failure. "To each according to his needs" sounds great, and makes libs feel good about themselves, but in the real world-- it doesn't work. Being a liberal is all about feelings, not practical effect. Repubs are not "mean" as Mrs Obama characterizes the USA, rather they know the Democrats' programs in the past merely created more social problems than they cured, therefore more practical, productive, effective solutions are necessary in the future. With Obama we would be taking a step backwards in time--not forwards.
