Hmmm. It might depend on whether you were a slave or not.

I suspect that the great British empire's history is full of examples of "subjects" that would have been hard pressed to tell the difference from the life of a slave. Personally, I think slavery was probably the biggest mistake this country ever made. That debt will not be zeroed out for generations.

We, thankfully, "metricated" our currency system very early on and our engineers(all jokes to the contrary) seem to have flourished despite the handicaps.

On this day and every other day for that matter, I'm proud to live in a land subjugated to none....where even ingrates can advance to the highest levels.
