I'm not passing them off as facts, they clearly are facts.
For example #1 Economic growth.

Exports register four-fold increase in four years pajhwok.com
Cereals production doubles in Afghanistan: FAO pajhwok.com
Things like number 3 (Taliban advances being quickly reversed any time they take and try to hold territory), aren't subject to statistics like economy growth, but if you pay any attention to the situation you'll know that's what happens.
#5 as I pointed out is in current news reports. Even if you think I'm likely to lie about such a claim (and I'm not), saying its clearly wrong, is silly when 2 seconds on google can show you otherwise.
Here is one of the news reports.
Pakistan launches strike at Taliban hideouts KHYBER AGENCY, Pakistan - Pakistan's newly elected government launched the first major assault against militants in the country's volatile northwest on Saturday, destroying a militant leader's headquarters and shelling suspected hideouts of other fighters...

You might have found zero hits about infrastructure but - Afghanistan infrastructure improved - gives 1,530,000 hits.
Such as
"• An estimated 3,450 km of asphalted roads and 9,700 km of rural roads have been rehabilitated, improved or built, including segments of the ring road system, national highways, provincial and rural access roads.
• As a consequence, the average traffic volume has increased greatly. For instance, on 175 km of the rehabilitated northern highway, average traffic volume increased from about 1,200 vehicles/day, to more than 12,000 vehicles/day and continues to increase; the average access time to markets, social services and administrative centres was reduced from 55-60 minutes to 22-25 minutes for communities along the roads.
• The national programmes managed by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) disbursed more than US$ 160 million for 7,000 rural transport infrastructure projects such as tertiary road rehabilitation, culverts, bridges and retaining wall construction.
- Electricity
• The domestic production of electricity tripled between 2002 and 2007, from 156 MW to 485 MW.
• Major progress has been accomplished in the electricity transmission network: lines carrying power from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have been built. "

You talk about giving me the benefit of the doubt, but you do nothing of the sort. But that's ok, if you think I'm wrong, and esp. if you think I'm being dishonest, that's understandable, but most of these points are easily checked. Its really rather silly to call them clearly not facts. |
