i doubt culture problems, many countries have just as high a standard to enter, via plane.

What i believe is the real estate market crash and world stock exchanges as well as commodities increasing at rapid rates has hurt tourist trade, in addition to hotel, perhaps car rentals , theme parks, and massive increases in overall cost of living and loss in savings.

take spain's collaspe in housing, from what i read its a lot worse then in the states. and many, many people who invested over their for retirement homes, vacations homes have lost their savings , investments etc. England housing is in collaspe and how much do you pay for a liter of gasoline in europe.. close to $10.us dollars? Bikes are coming back big time to commute to work in London.

doesn't leave much for them extra money to fly over to the united states for a vacation.
