You can see it in small ways if you look. Just volunteer for a few days at your local food bank, or Habitat... these are small and non profit... and therefore do not have the power of the profit motive behind them. Then there is Google. Lots of profit there but the "do no evil" guide line. Have you looked at Google Apps? Mostly free and pretty good stuff. We (IMHO) are entering into a rough period. Community will be important. It will be good to find a way to help, even a small way.
