It doesn't surprise me the echelon where the people who are having trouble with housing come from. And that's why I said you had a point when you wrote that the delta between having and not having money has to do with the delta between being silly and being clever.

Thus these immigrants got fleeced. Coming from places where they are not part of the official economy to a highly developed finance system, made them sheep ready to be fleeced.

Besides that, they come as many migrants do thinking that there's a Nirvana of virtue waiting for them. That causes them not to do the necessary inquiries and serve as meal for the businesses that prey on those ignorant people.

Today's societies have developed to a point that the ignorant mass cannot grasp the basics. Many countries love to have the shirtless ignorant to come drive their taxis, clean do the menial work.

If not by design, they turn a blind eye and pretend it doesn't exist... But we know it is because they are taking a huge advantage of the shirtless because they don’t know how to defend themselves. That compare with the local whom have grown there and know the 'law of the land'...
