She got fired because of the "monster" (as in you think it's dead and then it comes back, like Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction") comment, but she had been in the UK and had given a further interview where she said the decisions about Iraq by Obama if he is elected would (obviously) have to consider conditions on the ground at that time.

She was fired first and the Iraq comment/interview became known a day or so later.
