mannie- we started the day trolling for salmon and then after the slack, moved to the halibut fishing grounds where we anchored and jigged for halibut. two different techniques, and entirely different fishing rods. apparently bringing in a halibut is like hauling up a rock. it feels like a dead weight. we didn't catch any today. our friends just bought their boat in tacoma and we'll probably have an opportunity to go out with them again. its good to be able to share the cost of fuel. he's got it rigged up really smart with a cleaning trough in the stern. he's a firm believer in cleaning the fish immediately, especially coho as they can suffer from something called 'belly burn' and they begin to deteriorate very quickly. ask me anything - i'm an expert now that i've caught a fish <vbg> -zita
