How remarkable.

Russia did nearly all the work and that his efforts and the whole western front, including the belated American effort, was small by comparison.

And why did Russia put forth so much effort? ONLY because Hitler invaded. Stalin couldn't have cared less if Hitler enslaved the rest of Europe, so long as it got its share of booty. First the Russians fought to save the Motherland, then to revenge itself on Hitler and gain as much territory in Eastern Europe as possible. But, I suppose, since "Russia did nearly all the work" its motives didn't matter and that's A-OK with you.

Gorby walked away from what he considered a pointless ideology [USSR expansionism, cruelty, totalitarianism, inhumanity]. Reagan didn't make him give it away. Ask Gorby why he did it. You could read his Perestroika book.

That's nice. Really nice. Hindsight is great, isn't it? I believe there's a book just come out about the Cuban Missile Crisis. Amazing what Kennedy and his advisors didn't know AT THE TIME. And we look back and say, Why didn't they..? We are SO much smarter!
