"It is a sad sign of a degenerating culture when adultery in high office leads to impeachment, but malfeasance in planning for military occupation, and the consequent loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, leads to election victory.

The fact that not one person in high office has been called to account for this disaster is an indictment not only of the political classes, but also of those who run the media outlets of this country.

Has fear of loss of status become so virulent that no-one in politics or the media has the courage to call such actions, so well documented in these reports, as demonstrating behavior that in any other walk of life would be called criminal negligence? "
