Re: "If Romney had gotten his message out earlier, he would have had a better chance."

Possibly.

But I still think his problems getting votes was more connected to him running as a Liberal... and then four years later claiming to be different. (That, and being a Mormon both times. <g>)

Re: "I still don't like McCain one bit, but I do still blame the democrats for this economy and the oil mess. If it weren't for them, we'd already be drilling in our own country plus building Nuclear Power plants."

As far as the nukes go... it was the BANKERS who've prevented projects from going ahead. (Not some mythically 'all powerful' 'liberal' or 'dem' or 'environmentalist'.)

Even with the federal government subsidizing the entire fuel chain, and sticking the taxpayers with the entire cost of disaster insurance for the industry, and promising to accept and 'dispose of' the high level waste (for the next couple of million years or so... wonder what the tab on that will finally be? <g>), Wall Street didn't see financial viability in the projects. Too expensive.

(Of course that was then... the cost of nat. gas and coal and whatnot have been extra cheap for a couple of decades. The price comparisons don't look the same now. :-)
