If you are going to raise the maz, might as well raise it to infinity. Why save warren but tax jimmy? As far as the rate goes, that would need to be lowered not raised. For a liberal you are dumping on your constituency with your proposal. What are you, a neocon?

No Social Security has always been a hard sell to the right... as is demonstrated here. If you do make it a "welfare program" then it's future will be even more difficult.

Right now it works and works well... it keeps a lot of old folks from being destitute. I think that is worth a 1/2 point more FICA (employee and employer).
