Too funny Maurice. Let's see, where should I begin.

Oh, Saddam....

Had the U.S. not led a coalition to kick him out of Kuwait, he well could have taken the Saudi oil fields and controlled a large portion of the worlds energy resources. Having that kind of power and wealth will bring you a lot more allegiance than the Italian army of WW2. And he was a deranged nut on the order of Hitler. I believe his hero was Stalin. What would Stalin had done controlling so much of the planets energy?

It's very, very, very, very, very easy to look back now after Saddam and his 4th largest army in the world is destroyed and say it was all soooo easy, isn't it?

NZ acting alone would have been defeated by a few of Saddam's old Soviet tanks and probably ran like the Italians of WW2 from the sands of Kuwait. That is if they had the guts to go it alone. Speaking of performance in WW2, quite an amazing performance NZ had in Greece and then the Crete islands wasn't it.

Speaking of saving the world, the U.S. military will keep patrolling the oceans both above and below to keep you safe to build the next CDMA technology. Because, without that military power keeping the sea lanes free of nut cases like the ones you mentioned, that cell phone wouldn't be worth a dime.

Americans don't often ask for thanks for the sacrifices we endure as the worlds only superpower, but most aren't willing to sit idly by and read a bunch of revisionistic military history which paints those sacrifices in a solely selfish light.

I'm sure NZ is a beautiful place with wonderful people (I did see Lord of the Rings), but let's not pretend they have much to do with keeping the world safe from evil dictators.
