They want the US out and they want Iran out. Al queda is just about out already. I dont see the problem. We won something that was total quagmire a year or so ago. Lets have a parade for the troops. I pretty much agree with this. I just think we have to proceed with caution to insure it doesn't fall back into the kind of mess we had two years ago, because that IS a bad situation for America. I believe it is clear at this point that Iraq can become largely what the administration's vision for it had been -- a pro-American nation in the heart of the MidEast with at least SOME significant democratic underpinnings (i.e., something other than a straight dictatorship). It took longer and tragically, cost more American lives than predicted. But Americans fight for their freedom and always have, and one day the Iraq War will be seen as a fight for American freedom. A truthful analysis, I think, will eventually show that Bush did the right thing in Iraq, although the job was bungled early on. That, of course, will be years down the road after which the politically motivated media people acquiesce to the truth of the situation.
