As for powell he should have quit rather than knowingly like and embarrass himself. I am not sure he did that but you imply it.

I agree...but at that time it would have taken courage no politician seemed to possess.


Al, I am not sure Powell was opposed to the war as much as you and michael think. He may have had reservations but he didn't have any trouble fabricating a good case for war in front of the UN based on weak intel that the Brits warned was probably wrong. Powell was a huge disappointment for me. When his name was no longer useful to this administration, they let him go.
