got so sick from them pulling his teeth.

Same thing happened to my dad in the Navy WWII. Told him eventually he'd have to get them pulled so you might as well have Uncle Sam do it for free. He was in his early 20s.

I'm wondering if that was a policy then. Save having to fill teeth for millions of GIs.
