I really wish we had the time next weekend to head over that way, but you know we don't. It looks like an absolutely beautiful place, and even though we don't have a bike, I just love those wilderness roads. It is a long way from here, so if we ever go we'd have to make extra time. Hubby has always wanted to fish the Grand Ronde..............he will some day.........because we used to have a neighbor that went/goes over every fall and fishes it. He told us some pretty good stories about it and made it sound great. He said the fishing is very good.

That is just a beautiful and not crowed part of the country and would be perfect if there was a nice big ski area close by.

As for the fireworks: We have a neighbor up river a couple of hundred yards that is young and really into the fireworks. He has a party on the fourth every year. Him and his buddies go up to Boom City and spend about $400 on fireworks. They go out on a gravel bar in the river and set them off there. We sit on the deck in our cozy chairs and have a front row seat to a great show. We're going to give him some money next year so he can buy more fireworks and spend the fourth there.

You can have that down in a hollow fireworks place. I can't stand the smoke or the close proximity to the show. (small lot). One kid kept putting those fire cracker racks in a 5 gal plastic bucket and one time he aimed it at the spectators and we got firecrackers coming our way.

IDIOT!
