That is just a beautiful and not crowed part of the country and would be perfect if there was a nice big ski area close by.

Anthony Lakes is pretty close by, but I would not call it a "big" ski area.

As for the fireworks: We have a neighbor up river a couple of hundred yards that is young and really into the fireworks. He has a party on the fourth every year. Him and his buddies go up to Boom City and spend about $400 on fireworks.

For those not familiar with this area, "Boom City" is a place on one of the Indian Reservations that has numerous fireworks stands. Because it's on the reservation, there are no restrictions, and you can get just about anything you want there, from sparklers to things that really go BOOM!
