There are differences. And there are similarities. The problem is, to solve things is going to be painful. And, that is if we start now. If we don't, well, the differences will shrink.

For example. Inflation is already starting to set in, it is just below the radar. As I pointed out in another post, food manufacturers are starting to put less in the same sized containers. Where a coffee can might have had 16 ounces of coffee in the can, now it can be as little as 10. Same with cereal and other processed foods. In general, the more energy required to produce it, the less you get now. The CPI doesn't catch this because they still are playing by the same old rules.
