NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Stocks were broadly lower Friday morning amid carry-over from Thursday's technology-led sell-off and weakness in Treasurys. Bonds fell amid stronger-than-expected reports on September housing starts and industrial production. The dollar was solidly higher.

Despite the early selling pressure and Sunday's 10-year anniversary of Wall Street's 508-point plunge, most analysts expect the stock market's weakness to be short-lived.
