 Bituminous Coal Seam
In April, a junior exploration company searching for
diamonds on claim blocks north of Hudson Bay instead
intersected a coal seam. According to lab analysis, most of
the coal is high volatile bituminous C and subbituminous A.
Saskatchewan is already Canada’s third largest coal
producer, but it has only produced lignite coal. This is the
first occurrence of a quality bituminous coal seam.
