Exiting some of my positions and adding to others.
I'll take losses in sporting goods store [t]CAB[/t]. I still like it for its real estate, and may later restart position. My sale of some [t]AXP[/t] 31 days ago lets me get back in now: I've decided to sell remaining shares and revisit stock in another 31 days. I liked garden supplier Hine Horticulture - it's been mis-manged a long time, yet I believed business and stock would eventually do okay (demand for product is there). I show I'm in at $1.31 and $1.16; Out today at 7 cents. Haven't had any of my companies go bk this year; HORT.ob is about there though.
I've liked the cosmetic surgery business. That's an elective procedure thing though, and expensive. So businesses and stocks related are suffering. I'll close my few remaining shares of losing position [t]MRX[/t].
I've held [t]ABT[/t] for years. Past few just a stub though. I'll close that out now one the presumption I might reenter later at lower prices. [t]RELL[/t] fits my model for buying distribution stocks; I'm just a little worried about some of these 'marginal' companies: I've closed my position here. Still have a buy order in for AVT though. In oils, I've closed out my BP position, and reduced my MRO position (selling high cost shares for a tax loss). I continue selling down oil tanker stocks (being worried about a possible overcapacity situation for their business next year)-- SFL, TNP, FRO.
Here are some buys I've made today, fwiw: Added to ECA. I like that they are in three "non-conventional" exploration areas - Montney, Haynesville, and Horn River. Added to e&p BSIC.ob (They are in Bakken.) Added to LEA, ACAS, TNL.
