Two major fallacies in your post.

1) you mentioned low performance many times in your post. You are wrong. Electric cars actually perform better than gas cars. They accelerate much faster, for one, and they have all the standard amenities that you'd get in a gas car, including A/C, heaters, etc. Top speeds are comparable to gas cars as well. You don't have to compromise one bit. I think you are showing your ignorance here again.

2) You say most people don't have a second car. That's true for individuals. However, almost every family in America has 2 or more cars. I drive an old 2 door for my commute to work, but when we go on vacations that require a long drive, we take the larger car. The next car I buy will be fully electric for my commute. There's no reason in the world for me to buy a gas car for my commute car. And that applies to everyone in America who has a family and 2 or more cars.
