Has anyone thought of the national security ramifications of an all-optical internet and the future proliferation of optical devices on a massive scale (all-optical transistors replacing silicon-based transistors in computers)? We may have a technology platform which is impervious to electromagnetic weapons (E-Bombs). Electromagnetic bombs are weapons capable of disabling conventional electronics. GATE
