Well Dan, I guess we fundamentally do not agree because Peer-to-peer networking is not the future. That is what WFW and W95 are right now, and have done for many years.

The Web is not peer-to-peer. It is server based. All of the machines which are hooking up are clients. This is a client/server model which will become more and more prevalent.

That way things actually look, timesharing is again the future. It failed in the 60's and 70's because of band width problems. Now with major servers coming on-line which will serve our desktops as application servers, the day of purchasing a license for a piece of software finally looks like there will be an alternative. When you look at a file which you do not have the application for, you will simply "rent" usage of an applicable run-time or full implimentation - depending on your needs.

But getting back to Novell, MicroSoft does not have server which does what Novell does. They have an application server, not a file, print, and Directory Service, server.

Novell does not want to get into the market that you are describing.

Happy Trading to you too,

Jon
