Giuliani: Obama Capturing 'an Anti-American Feeling'

by Andy Barr, thehill.com, July 10 2008

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-N.Y.) said Thursday that Barack Obama is capturing 'an anti-American feeling' responding to Obama telling a town hall audience in Georgia that their children should learn to speak Spanish.

"Well this is why he is a popular candidate in Europe, because there is such an anti-American feeling and he is sort of capturing that," Giuliani said on MSNBC.

Giuliani said he was not as troubled by Obama's suggestion that children learn Spanish as the assumption that immigrant families are learning English.

"It makes sense to teach your children another language," Giuliani said. But, Giuliani added, "the reality is that this is a country that should speak English…and if we can learn an extra language or two that would be terrific."

The former New York City Mayor said Obama is "sliding over" the need for immigrant families to learn English by "making an assumption that isn't true, that all immigrants are learning English. They're not."

Rudy's right. Obama hates the U.S. as it currently exists. He wants to live in a country that is bi-lingual, bi-sexual, anti-gun, pro-illegal immigration and anti-business. He should be running for President of Cuba.

Bottom line is that English should be the official language of America, just like french is official language of France, Spanish for Spain and Mexico. These countries do not cater to one specific group like we do with Spanish documents.

The real question is, why did Obama suggest Spanish and Spanish only.

There is nothing wrong with learning a second language. In fact, everyone agrees that the ability to speak different languages enrich our lives.

However, the reason Obama singled out Spanish is transparent. He is merely playing the typical political game of pandering to a specific voting block.

If he were talking to German Americans, he probably would have said German.

Rudy…Captain 9/11. That's just moronic. Obama is anti American because he wants to improve the country? 9/11… Flag Pin… Reverand Wright … Rudy and Co. can't stand on the same stage with Obama when it comes to understanding how to return the United States to the most respected nation in the world. The only thing they have is fear mongering, catch phrases, and soundbytes.

This country was built on English Rule, and it shall stay that way. My forefathers had to learn English and many others. Why should we switch it now? Because We're being invaded from the South? I think not.
