Those people claimed to be one thing, but the Bible says we are to judge a tree by its fruit. My pastor said he has gotten some of his worst experiences in service & business from people who claimed to be Christians. It is quite reasonable, though. If they claim to be something they are not, then it is in agreement with what they really are that they turn out to be so disappointing. Maurice Winn (another participant here) likes to refer to the "witch burnings" done by "Christians". I believe those "witch burners", if they claimed to be Christians, were pretenders to the faith also. Look how many modern-day extreme left wing liberal politicians are trying to appear conservative or at least moderate! They will maintain their efforts at this pretense as long as they believe they have something to gain from it, such as votes to get them into positions of power. John
