I think this article shows that, probably, TEOTWAWKI is already here, and that a gradual degradation or change of our lifestyles, unless one is independently wealthy, is already occurring. In my newspaper today, dificulties in providing school lunch programs with the rise price of commodities was one article; the rise of small towns as destinations for near-locals; the disintegrating aircraft industry and inevitable change in transportation; etc. The Ma governor is asking for a billion $ assistance instead of $250 mill for heating oil this winter.

I was thinking that the millions of immigrants, legal and illegal, employed in, say, the lettuce industry, will eventually face job loss as it becomes unrealistic to ship lettuce 3000 miles to me. Maybe the illegals will return home to small village life. There are probably numerous changes that will evolve (or devolve) that aren't predictable (by me) yet.
