I'm surprised that you and others were surprised. ;-)

... especially when highly revered Wall Street Analysts don't make the distinction in talking to the public at least.

... and anyone could argue that if your customer doesn't have money, then that customer will be reluctant to borrow for new capital equipment especially when prices are falling for the commodity that that customer is producing.

So I'm really surprised that all you "surprised people" didn't see the connection.

Before I get 10 more surpised responses, I don't subscribe to any of the above arguments for the most part. As I've said before, on this thread I believe, chipmakers need to buy capital equipment to upgrade their processes to the most efficient. The alternative is to die.
