We need more refineries US domestic refinery capacity as of Jan 1, 2007 stood at 17.443 million barrels per day .. Current US refinery utilization rates ~ 88% eia.doe.gov Domestic crude oil production is less than 6 million barrels per day .. If you want the country to be less dependent on imported crude oil then you don't build any more excess refinery capacity here !!!!! Triff ..
