As I've stated before, a quicker transition to alternatives would indeed be a larger upfront investment, but it would also ensure we secure a much larger share of the pie as the alternative energy industry grows. It's the classic entrepreneurs dilemna. Invest now with a large sum with greater risks but also much greater benefits, or invest small sums with lower risk, but also very little chance of dominating the future industry.

It is so obvious to me that alternative energy is coming as every country on earth begins to diversify their energy sources, that I think it will be wealth worth the risks to do invest heavily and do a quicker transition.
