We can get past the lame repetition of the decades-old argument over the virtues of offshore drilling. Simply put: To refuse to exploit our vast oil reserves is insane. Excuse me Mr. Zuckerman. But aren't you the same liberal writer for U.S. Snooze and World report who has been openly supporting leftist politicians for more than a decade? The same politicians who are intertwined with radical environmental groups that have viciously attacked our ability as a nation to become energy independent? BTW, your editorial writing with its extreme Demolib bias is one of the main reasons I stopped reading the magazine. What a hypocrite! At least have the integrity to do a mea-culpa. There should be a lot of mea-culpa's when gasoline prices hit $5.00 a barrel. Just a few votes kept us from pumping billions of oil from our own country. Just a few common sense approaches to the environment would have kept us energy independent. A few decades ago you were proud of Jane Fonda and her other leftist pals who squashed nuclear power plant development. What happened? Has reality hit you in the face, or do you see Americans finally getting fed up with liberal environmental zealots.
