Before Prudoe Bay the same concerns were echoed by environmentalists and drilling for oil in Prudoe Bay has been a great success. Thousands of jobs have been created, the Caribou populations have risen significantly, the state of Alaska has benefited tremendously and it has helped to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil.

Without the 700 thousand barrells a day of oil coming from Prudoe Bay, representing 17% of the countries domestic oil, America would be in far worse shape. Adding another million barrels a day from basically the same area is a no-brainer.

In fact, it's insane to not exploit this natural resource for the prosperity of the country.
