They aren't "refusing" it, but they "prefer" other currencies like the Euro.

People in their shops in India or Thailand or any other developing country are WELL aware of how currency exchange rates are going because they have to exchange currencies ALL the time.

The dollar is down about 40% compared to the Euro since 2000, so anybody scraping by is going to want the currencies that are "appreciating", not the ones that seem to be continuously losing value.

On a lot of my Canadian stocks I've made MORE money on the currency than I've made on stock appreciation over the last 8 years.

"Hyperbole" has NOTHING to do with it.
